You know, frankly, I really enjoy teaching golfers at this handicap level. Most 20-30 handicappers can hit some really nice shots, and with a little sharper short game can knock of 5 to 10 shots in no time. With the very proficient player, improvement can be much more difficult, where even improving half a shot can be a challenge.
Now as you'll hear me say often throughout this series, it's rarely a lack of talent that holds golfer's back, it's a lack of knowledge... so once they understand the technique necessary to play the different shots, they almost always do a lot better, and nowhere is this more prevalent than in the 20 to 30 handicap range.
Now what you'll learn in this level, after a review of the basic chipping technique, is how to hit successfully from the rough and sand. We're also going to go over how to choose the different shots and different clubs from around the green. Many times, just due to lack of experience, the golfer might choose a shot that's actually much more difficult than the shot they really need to play. So I'll help you a little bit with your decision making process from around the green as well.
